Playa Hermosa

In english, Playa Hermosa means "beautiful beach". So it's really no surprise that there are actually many beaches of the same name in this tiny country. But THIS one might be the most popular. Known for it's distinctive black sands and spectacular surf-breaks that attract world-class surfers from all around, it's central location relative to the rest of Costa Rica's most visited destinations makes this Playa Hermosa quite popular. Though this certainly is a surfer's paradise, there are many other interesting activities, like fishing, zip lining and hiking to partake in, just to name a few.
